The John Neilson Music Book
A Manuscript of Scottish Fiddle Music from Cuilhill, Scotland, 1875
In 2021 Vivian Williams decided, after many years in her same house, to retire to a smaller living space. While doing so she decided to downsize and pass on her vast music collection and the contents of Voyager Records. The legal entity and copyright of Voyager she graciously gave to The Smithsonian. The material contents of the label, mainly printed books of music and CDs, she passed to us.
As a result we are able to make these materials available to the fiddle community for a limited time and while supplies last. The intention of this project is to distribute the materials to interested fiddlers for a minimal cost with the proceeds being distributed to various fiddle organizations and scholarship funds throughout the Western United States.
We would like to thank Vivian for all she has done and continues to do for fiddling. Her contributions both as a historian and player have been unmeasurable. She and her late husband Phil were pioneers in the Seattle folk community and she continues to inspire new generations of players and folklorists.
